Israel Trip: Naot Kedumim
Like I said, we were in Israel for the holiday of Succos (or Sukkot, depending on your pronunciation). We went to Naot Kedumim, a park of hiking trails, one day of our trip. As it was lightly raining and we were there with li'l guys, we weren't going to go thru any long trails. But at the end of one of the trails, they had a display of Succahs set up. The booths represented the ancient mishna text on what constitutes a valid and an invalid Succah. They had a huge succah, a tiny succah, a double-decker succah, a succah made out of a bed, a succah on a boat, a succah on a camel, a succah made out of a haystack and more.
Also, the guides gave out a handout outlining all the different types of trees on the trails, referencing where that tree was mentioned in the Bible. (A very educational trip, no?)
