Also suffered a recent hiccup in my keenspace account, such that there was no front page to my site. All fixed now, as you can see. Hang in there, I've still got more to say. 8/26/2004 - Thankfully, the tide seems to have subsided slightly at work, but also thankfully, the voiceover biz seems to be picking up. I've been busy with several productions and recording voiceover for a corporate CD-Rom, so even when I'm at home, there's not always so much time for a cartooning session. I will do my best, though. As long as there's things that annoy me about work, there will be a cartoon to tell the tale. But what would happen if I switched into a career I actually liked? Hmmm, now there's a thought......

7/26/2004- Holy crow.. between being swamped at work at Paint Shop Pro throwing a spaz fit on me, I just had to resort to desparate measures (known in these parts as MS Paint) to get this friggin' comic out. I feel though, that posting this comic is getting over a hump that's been blocking my creative progress in this comic. Once I got rehired in real life, things started happening that I wanted to put in the comic, but since the comic charater was still in the unemployed phase, I felt some of those ideas (which would've been better done fresh) dried up a bit on me. I don't know if you can relate, but that's what it's like when you're doign an autobiographical work that's update about 9 months behind real life. Some of my best comics are teh ones I jot down, sketch, script and draw out within a week of the incident occurring. The comics I will post over the next few weeks (hopefully) are some of those, and I think they're good shtuff.

7/19/2004- Well, I tried to get this week's comic up and out there, but my computer was giving me guff this weekend. Things are crazy and busy, so even when I get a chance to actually do a comic, it's a time-crunch situation. I have got some good ideas on paper, but it just tkaes forever to turn them into a comic. Usually, I am so pressed for time it ends up at about half the quality I'd like. Seems more and more that my life is not my own and no time may be devoted to something I enjoy. Something's gotta change....

7/20/2004- Met me good mate Peretz (AKA Pez) last night, in from Manchester for the summer. Here is the result of little get-together. The idea is he draws something, I draw something else killing it, he draws something killing my creation and so on. We've done three of these over the years, and are in the midst of a fourth, but this one was just a quickie on the paper table cloth of the restaurant. It was great to see him and we had some good grub. Shame we had to fight off the swarming hoards of tourists clogging the sidewalks of NYC.

Yep, the allergies have been pretty nasty this Spring. Bah. I envy the poor foo who doesn't get sneezy this time of year.. tho they are saying that even non-allergenic folks are sneexin it up a bit this year.. serves em right. 12/23/03- OK, OK. I have a good excuse this week! I claim illness: I have.. an EAR INFECTION! Can you believe it? I haven't had one of those since, like, diaper school, man. Anyway, what with running around and getting perscriptions filled, add a dash of feeling like liqufied crud, I just haven't gotten to finish and post this week's comic. But thatnks to the addition of SUPER HIGH SPEED CABLE INTERNET ACCESS which found its way into my home and heart, I will be able to post soon and maybe do some other fix-up stuff I have been too lazy to do for a while. 11/18/03- Seems like Tuesday has become my regular update day. Hmm, no matter as long as they keep coming.
This comic celebrates the three-year anniversary of GlueMeat, by good ol' Case Yorke. With a fresh new site design and the Altbrand Forums back up, things are shaping up for this to be another great year for him. Stop on by and wish him well!

10/13/03- This one was done on a foreign computer and with MS Paint. Not a very versatile program, but got the job done.. It was a bit of a cut-and-paste jobbie, but the words (lots of em) were all divinely inspired. True story, remind me to tell you guys some day.

10/5/03- Well, the search is over. After contemplating 2 job offers I have accepted the one in Midtwon Manhattan. It's another programmer job, with a growing company. I spend part of a day last week hanging out with them, seeing what kind of projects they do, until I was pretty much kicked out. They had to get some work done, I guess. So I start Tuesday! Exciting.. now I'll have some inbound cashflow again. Thanks for your support!

9/25/2003-I'm back... Let's see how this goes. So I have been seing some promising results from my intense job search. Some interviews, mostly good ones. It's scary, but hopefully it'll all work out cheery and rosey.

Later-This is a hiatus strip- a word which here means some stuff I scanned and put up, even though it wasn't a full comic, but put up none the less so I would feel good about myself. I have Monday's comic drawn, scanned and uploaded, so hang on tight, here we go again...for a while at least.
I now have 2 job offers on the table, so it remains to be seen how much time will be left in which to create the ol' comic.

9/1/2003-Whew..devoting fulltime plus to the Job Search. Having difficulty producing the comic and even relating to it, not that I am not actually working. I need a break. I'll be back.

8/21/2003-Job Search is going swimmingly. It's like a full-time job all in itself. Updates are becoming chronically late, but I hope you folks are hanging in there. Not really much time these days to check out webcomics, so go out and discover your own!

8/5/2003-Short News Brief- lost my job the week before last. Last week's comic suffered horribly as a result. I don't have the heart to go back and try and fix it, so I am concentrating on the job search while forging forward with the comic ideas as planned. This week's got delayed due to the turmoil that ensues when this sort of thing happened. Thanks for bearing with me.

7/21/2003 - Anticipating that I would have a hard time finding the precious time needed to do a full-fledged comic, I decided this week to go with the ol' copy and paste trick. Hopefully, this won't happen often, but it is good to know that the results aren't hideous. Let me know if you disagree.

7/7/2003 - Hope everyone had a happy fourth. Went to Baltimore for the big weekend- got a little chance to sit down and draw, and here's the results. The Penn and Teller thing... It's supposed to be a caricature of Penn and Teller against some random background. Well, let's just say Teller was vacationing in Chernobyl. That'll do.
I have been having some weird stuff going on with Keenspace (site down for a whole day, passwords resetting themselves, passwords working in FTP but not siteadmin (for 'spacers who want to fix that last problem, see this forum post), but I think in the long run, they are enabling me to do my comic, as the updating would take too much time out of my week. So... thanks Keenspace! I'm sticking with you despite the hardships.

6/30/2003 - I am immensely fantasmically happy this morn. No, I didn't drain the precious lifeblood out of any officemates today..that comes on Wednesdays. No, my joy this morn is due to The Short Guy and J'Dan from UR Cult who did this too good to be true and should be illegal cameo of yer ol' pal ESH. I won some contest they were running but that's not what matters. What matters is how perfect the cameo is, and how stunningly wonderful these 2 fellows are for doing it. Not only is it the very first ESH cameo, it's absolutely spot-on perfect, from the artwork to the content, rigth down to the trademark dialogue box (and by trademark, I mean stolen from FRAMED!!!) I hardly know what to say. Cheers. Thanks. Graze'. Marry me. I can't get over it. I'm openly weeping. People are staring.
Oh yeah, I did a comic too. Whatever.

6/23/2003 - Notice anything different? New glasses! I debated changing the look in the comic to reflect my new real life glasses, and decided: why deny my character the luxury of some nice new glasses? Doesn't cost me anything extra, and I think the poor guy deserves a present.
For those of you who have not ever heard of Homestar Runner, you must go there now. NOW. Stop working, stop eating, stop BREATHING and go there now.
Less urgent, but also fun is Worth¹⁰⁰⁰ (as in the exchange rate of pictures to words). Photoshop contests, with great, funny results. Cheers.

6/24/2003 - Almost forgot about this. Weird message on our machine the other day. Something about a snapping turtle on our porch..we never reported any form of reptillian wildlife on our porch. 6/16/2003 - Today's comic brought to you by whim- I felt like coloring, for some odd reason. As usual, the comic is based on real life events. The guy who spells scanner 'S-C-A-N-N-A-R' is the one who sends out the reminder to spellcheck your emails. The tips document he sent around was this one: Link-o Enjoy.
Father's day was groovy. Izzi got filthy trying to walk in the muddy park grass, but no one minded, meself included. Good burgers and hot dogs, family fun times, what could be bad? Oh yeah, the hour drive to the park, in traffic. and back. Well, t'weren't bad o'ermuch.
I am getting new glasses- should I reflect the change in the way I draw my character? It is supposed to look like me, you know.. Email me, let me know what you think.

4/29/2003- I know I can't just post a comic like this without an explanation, but time is too short for what I want to say and how I need to say it. Michael Schreck, executive director of S/A/R Academy (my elementary school), father of 2 of my friends, long-time member of my hometown community, and all-around loved person, has passed away from a sudden heart attack. No warning signs, no history of heart problems- just gone. This has been devastating for the Schrecks, as well as for me, my family and community, and I felt the need to express the loss in some way. Mike made S/A/R run, brought it to life and managed the details of its day-to-day existence, and this comic is set within its hallowed 'walls.' (for those not in the know, you're going to need to accept that as an inside joke. Sorry)
Audrey Schurgin was the assistant principal who knew, loved, cared about and affected EVERY SINGLE KID that attended S/A/R during her run there. She passed away a few years ago and at the time, I created this dedication. These two pillars are gone, and I needed to let the world know how I felt. Life will resume next week.

5/5/2003- Sorry, no color this week. If enough people email me, I'll do a color one next week. Heck, if ONE people emailses me, I'll do it. But at least there's a comic for this week. This week was another deadline situation- busy Sunday with the family, seeing people, buying things, etc. Have you seen this man lately? I have.

4/21/2003 - Demo samples are up HERE until I get something a little easier and more permanent. I sincerely hope you enjoy them a great deal.
CAVEAT (perhaps long overdue, given that I've been doing this comic over a year) - as per THIS COMIC, my comics are all drawn on recycled paper. Recycled paper means 'paper I bring home from the office which otherwise would've been thrown out due to having three lines accidentally printed on it.' Paper is like gold to us cartoonists; wasting it is a sin. I try to pick the paper with the lightest print on it and use the backs, but sometimes it still comes through and is visible in the comic. I try and correct it when finishing a comic, but sometimes you may see a little hint of a barcode on someone's shirt. Please understand that these are the risks we run when trying to save the environment.
Lastly, I'd like to say that little Izzi man's first trip to the zoo was fun for his father and grandparents, and I hope he enjoyed it as well. He may be a little young to enjoy the majestic wonder of the animal kingdom, but he certainly did enjoy the gift shop. I guess stuffed animals are his real animal kingdom.
Looks like something big is about to happen at Killroy and Tina. Check it out.

This was originally a drawing for my friend Mike's 1/2 birthday (hence the 'half a cake' I offer him), but since it comes out a day before my birthday, I assumed he wouldn't mind if I used it to celebrate mine own birthday. Party Harty Marty! That is, if your name happens to be Marty, and your partying preference is of the heartier variety.

3/24/2003 - OK, sorry about this, but it looks like I will be taking a 2-week hiatus from the comic, in order to concentrate on my new career as a voice-over actor. More on this will be posted here when I have the time, but I spent yesterday getting to, returning from and sitting in a 4-hour marketing session in Albany. We learned all about how to market ourselves (shamelessly) as voice-over talent. Next Sunday I record my demo CD and so things are a bit tight this week and next. 3/31/2003- Just checking in to say HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Justin Pierce of Killroy and Tina! This is my little tribute to the fine comic he puts out, and I even gave Killroy a funky new belt.

4/4/2003- My demo taping (CD-ing?) went AMAZINGLY, and John Elliot of CVDG and I breezed through all my reads in an hour and a quarter, instead of the slotted 2 hours. Efficient and talented, yup, that's me. In 2 weeks or so when the CD is sent to me for approval, I will put both tracks up here for the world to listen to. If you like what you hear, EMAIL ME and offer me work.
Thanks to all those coming over from Killroy and Tina, and thanks to everyone for indulging me in this hiatus I decided to take. I have a comic that may or may not be ready for Monday. We shall see....

4/9/2003- Well, got my demo CD in the mail, and the folks at CVDG did an amazing job. I got greate feedback from my instructor and his supervisors, so I am pumped and looking forward to getting this thing out to as many studios and recording type people as possible. It's mostly instrumental guitar, some mood synth in there, some Jazz fusion, and occasionally some Classical and Celic tunes. 2/17/2003-Happy Presidents Day! We're all covered by a blanket of snow here in New Jersey, but it sounds like the folk down in the Maryland/DC area have it twice as worser. It was bitter cold over the weekend, but that didn't stop us from trekking out in the frizzin for pizza. Prob'ly should have, now that I think about it.
What to do today? Well, the wife and I came up with a whole list of things to do, ranging from chores to puzzles. Good thing, I'd hate to be snowbound and bored. Oh well, there's always Nesticle.
Feel better wishes go out to Justin Pierce, who draws Killroy and Tina - who apparently ate some meat that went bad on him. If you'd like to join his crusade against lousy restaurants, I think he has some sort of sign-up sheet on his site or something. Just don't hurt anyone. We're already going to war, people, we need to stick together in this country. Ah, but I ramble. Enjoy your day off, everyone!

02/10/2003 - Blah... Finally got my usual winter cold. Condolences to my mother-in-law, who lost her mother last week. Despite being on hand to help out, I still managed to get today's comic out.
The 'tongue twister' in the last panel is actually a warm-up exercise for loosening up the lips and tongues. Try it! Also see Danny Kaye's tongue twister song, from 'Singing in the Rain' (I think).
Had lunch yesterday with an old friend and a big fan on the comic. In fact, he's the one who came up with 'Office Space meets Dirty Harry.' A shout out and big ups to my man Mike.

01/21/2003- Please excuse the lateness of my update. Keenspace servers were down all day yesterday. This comic was drawn on our brand new dining room table. Well, on a sheet of paper placed on top of the table, but you get the idear.
Voice-over lessons are going well. Recorded a practice demo last session, but I can't post the results here, on request by my teacher. When the finished deal is recorded, I will post the tracks here for the world to enjoy. Will Damonk ever get back to the USA to continue his comic???? Stay tuned....

12/09/2002 - Howdy hi! This comic marks the transition from Company A to company B. Will the annoying quirks of office life go away with the switch to a new company? Will new ones crop up in their place? Do they have Nestea or Snapple in their soda machines? All these questions and more answered, in the weeks to come. Stay tuned....
New fantastic comic - not overly fancy but certainly nothing to complain about- Sandwich World. Took him a while to get the comic's storyline off the ground, but that really made it all that much funnier.

12/03/2002 - COLOR! To atone for my lateness. Also, because it's the first Monday of the month, so I guess I would've anyway. Thanksgiving was shweet, thanks for asking. Wife and kid came back from their trip bearing large amounts of gifts, so it all worked out great for everyone in the end. Happy Chanukah, to those who are so inclined.
Oh, and Dante from Angst Tech appears once again as a co-worker/supervisor. Don't let the comic fool you- Dante and I really get along well. This is just an act.

11/11/2002 - Boy, is it ever Monday!! This decapitation was specifically requested by my dear old chum Arthur, and I was more than willing to oblige him.
This past Thursday, I had my first professional voice-over class with John Gillogly of Creative Voice Development Group. I'll keep you posted as to my progress, but it's fun so far. Next class is in December. When I record my demo, I'll try to get some samples up here.
I tried sushi for the second time last night, and though it was marginally better than the first time I tried it, I don't see the appeal. I don't like the smell, the taste, the texture - in fact, I don't see what there is to like. Is it a thrill-seeking thing, like: 'Hey, look at me! I'm eating fish that wasn't cooked and seaweed that smells like South Street Seaport! Aint I just craaazy?!'

11/04/2002 - Yay! Color again! For this month's color strip, Usagi and Mofo from Warp 9 to Hell, of blessed memory, make their appearance. Maybe they will even resurface one day to continue the madness they started and so heartlessly abandoned.
Finally got to watch Spider-man over the weekend- great flick, true to its roots, fun to watch. Now I have to watch the first X-men movie and I 'll be all caught up in my Marvel Comic movies.

10/06/2002 - I predicted a while back that for the first ten years of this millenium, people would be so enamoured of it that we would always be calling the years 'Two Thousand, Two Thousand and one, etc'. Come 2010, we'd be ready to start using the standard convention of the past centuries and start in with 'Twenty Ten, Twenty Eleven.' So far I've been borne out- no one I've heard has referred to this year as 'Twenty Oh Two,' but I heard a radio news report about the Olympics and how they might be in New York in the year 'Twenty Twelve.' It's nice to be right for a change.
Changing jobs next week- does that mean I'll have less to complain about? Stay tuned. As per my wife's suggestion, I am going to try to do one color comic a month, on the first Monday of the month. So enjoy- Please please drop me a line and let me know what you think- about the color comic idea in particular, or the whole comic in general. Commence the mass emailing......... NOW.

9/10/2002 - What with the holiday season and all, it looks like it's gonna be a bit of a funky updating schedule, but I'll try to be good about it. Hugh, Yaz and Dante appear without any sort of consent or approval, and are property (mind, body and soul) of Barry T. Smith of Angst Technology. New link in LINKS : Kilroy and Tina! 9/01/2002 - Labor dayyyy!! Time for a late lazy update! Another vacation day spent doing nothing in particular. I guess that's a good thing. General Protection Fault is wrapping up (?) an intense storyline. Check it out- or see it from the beginning of this crazy ride.
